Snippet:
They ain't gonna take this one from the first "serious" (viable) black presidential candidate in American history.

No way. No how.

Hey Dean (or some other front page poster), there's a Hillary ad put together using clips from Jack Nicholson films and approved by Jack. Since I'm somewhat technically challenged, maybe someone would like to put a link to it.

Regardless of what one might think of Hillary, I think most would find it to be a clever ad.

You should be able to find it on YouTube. Thanks!

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread; just wanted to bring the Hillary ad to everyone's attention.

It's not a right/left thing. This is power politics on the killing floor.

If the Denver convention deadlocks, a Gore-Obama ticket is an entirely possible outcome. From the party standpoint, it's great if not perfect shot at a 16 year dynasty. The insiders want the office most of all. Obama's supporters will still support him as VP. Gore heals most all Clinton wounds. Gore's bitch rights trump Hillary's. Given the Dem mind, sense of retribution and what's fair, Gore deserves a listen if the other two can't chinch it. And it doesn't look like a compelling win awaits either.

For insiders, the comfort level with Gore is probably higher than with Obama or Clinton. They gave Hillary her shot and she's used it up. My hunch is Hillary's the odd man out and Obama's earned his spot, but there's still one person in line ahead of him.. Gore. I think the Gore-Obama ticket would destroy McCain-whomever because it solves the Democrat youth/experience problem and leaves the Republicans with a "too old" grumpy grandpa problem that cannot be argued away.

Yes, but Gore's has done almost as much US bashing as Jimmuh, and doubtless the VRWC will be working overtime to find all his juicy quotes about how evil SUV-focused American lifestyles are destroying Mother Earth.

And, if anything, Gore's US bashing is far more "personal" and hard to dismiss than Carter's, since Carter focuses on foreign policy.

My final anti-Gore point would be that Dems hate losers. Unlike Republicans (Nixon, Reagan, and now McCain), electoral losers pretty much don't get a second shot with the Dems.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
