(Sean, when are you going to start proofreading before you hit "Postt Coommeent")
It is hard to be hated. Very hard. And I think GW Bush is one of those people who desperately wants to be liked. That's why he keeps doing the most idiotic things imaginable to try to appease his enemies, and the end result is that he looks like a fool.
I am flabbergasted.
Sean: My opinion is that GWB doesn't give a cow's fart what others think about him.
I would like to ask him one thing - is 'If' his favorite poem?
I disagree. I think GW Bush is deeply desirous of the good opinion of others. I think that is one reason he values loyalty so highly (too highly). In some ways the stereotype of him as a good ol' fraternity boy have some truth to them. He likes to pal around with folks. He doesn't like the nova-like glare of hatred that has been beamed at him now for eight years.
Of course that's just my opinion. There will likely be a slew of tell-all books from his administration over the next few years, and we can just read them to find out.
As a follow-up, I DO think that GW Bush is the kind of man who does what he thinks is right even when it ends up with people hating him. But he doesn't LIKE it, and it weighs heavily on him.
Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.
Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
