I for one welcome our Japanese overlords. Granted Toshiba, the backer of HD-DVD, is also Japanese. And I already drive a Honda. And eat Japanese rice. And watch Japanese cartoons. And occasionally practice Buddhism...

But I welcome them anyway.

I saw this coming from the moment the "war" began. It wasn't because I'm some kind of Sony loyalist, but I couldn't see how their lead could be toppled.

The PlayStation 3 was the only HD console on the market so that guaranteed a Blu-Ray player in much of the Japanese gamer market and a significant portion of Europe and North America. The 360 has an HD-DVD peripheral but it's not used for games and isn't packed in with the console.

Sony, owning several motion picture companies, could guarantee a significant number of retail high definition movie and television series releases would be Blu-Ray while all the other companies out there were waiting to decide which format to follow.

The greater storage space seemed inconsequential when compared against these other two things. Though, I'm looking forward to the game that can used all 50GB available on a Blu-Ray disk.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
