Not the best time to use that as a post title.
I guess you haven't heard about the latest university shooting
To change the subject, not that I don't get Alan's point or think Aziz innocent in intent, I had a very good Valentine's Day.
I fooled the wife and nailed her at work with a good one.
Then we went out to Barnes and Noble.
One of the people we sold one of our American Superior pups to gave us 120 bucks worth of gift cards for books for Valentine's day, along with books for us and the kids at Christmas.
So we went out and I got a few books on gift card and bought some of my own for my personal library. I got a real good translation of Beowulf, along with a new copy of the Divine Comedy (on sale), some JF Cooper, a symphonic rock album - Us and Them (Pink Floyd), some graphic novels, a new portfolio for some of my architectural sketches, the Great Scientists, Fatal Revenant (which I had just finished reefing and liked so well I bought for a five spot), the first season of Kung Fu and the second season of Twin Peaks, and a copy of the Philokalia I was missing from my set. The kids got their stuff and so did my wife and then we went out to eat and a pretty good time was had for all.
However the real fun for me came in the bookstore near the architectural book section. A big guy came out of the bathroom and nearly ran into me at the corner. He was tall, I'd say 6'6" or 6'7", something like that, and although he was no Hulk he was well enough built. We were both walking the same lane and we both stopped dead because neither would step aside for the other. I looked up at him and said, "You're a big boy, aren't ya?"
He said, "Yes, I am."
Neither of us moved so I said, "I don't guess you're used to stepping aside for most folks are ya?"
"Not really," he said.
So I said, "That's okay buddy, because it just so happens there's plenty of room to my left side," and I reached out with my arm and slapped him playfully on his arm to kind of guide him in the right direction. He looked at me really shocked at first and then he laughed, and I laughed, and he went around me. It was fun and I kinda like doing stuff like that when I can just to see how people react.
After my wife goes to bed I'm gonna go steal some of her chocolates.
Right now I'm gonna go watch Twin Peaks, because everybody loves pie.
Happy Valentine's Day.
And to all of our military, and other men and women overseas,
that goes double for you.
My heart is true, and come home safe when you're able.
Today is his birthday!
Happy birthday Aziz.
Damn, I could never get away with that where I work.
TallDave, that was exatly what i was thinking.
Aziz, its like this,
(1) February 14 in the liturgical calender is the feast of St. Valentinius
(2) It is also Valentine's Day
(3) Its important to ignore numbers one and two because there are cards and flowers and dinners and chocolate necessaries to keep one out of the doghouse if you know what I mean.
(4) Happy Birthday
Well, she does have her own cubicle.
Happy BD, and happy VD, day Aziz.
Hope you used them both well.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.
Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
