Clinton has a head start in the unincorporated territory vote as she won a commanding victory in American Samoa!

Well, we won Puerto Rico once and have never been able to give it back.

So turnabout is fair play.

All I can think after reading that is "Puerto Rico has 55 delegates!? Are you kidding me?

Dean Esmay:
Well they do have a population of about 3.5 million, which is bigger than a lot of states. And political parties can assign delegates however they like, including to non-states, but they mostly do it proportional to population.

Sean as a Puertorrican I'm just as surprised as you that the island, smaller than Rhode Island, has 55 delegates.

As far as the nomination, Obama will have to campaign really hard. First, people in Puerto Rico love the Clintons. I really don't know why since it was under Bill that the 936 was abolished. Secondly, and there is no easy way to say this, is racism. People in PR have no affinity with a Black candidate, and might even be considered somewhat racist.

It will be very interesting to see how this turns out.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
