It's really unbelievable, these folks' capacity for shifting the goalposts.

That's what you get when Power is more important than Truth.

hmm... lots of beautiful wordplays off that one.

Not just power, but a deep seated desire to never, ever, examine their worldview. The United states is evil, anyone who aids it is evil, and all who oppose are good.

No matter what the facts are, rationalization is done and everything fits the worldview. The terrorists aren't evil, the USA forced them to strap the bomb to the woman. They were brilliantly adapting to the USA's strength, so it was the fault of the USA.

Easy, eh?

Talldave, they're not the “anti-war Left”. They have no objection to the violence, i.e. “the war” continuing to go on in Iraq. They just want it to go on without us.

That's the “Three Wise Monkeys” view of reality. As long as you don't hear about it on the evening news, it's not happening.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
