I welcome Ralph Nader to the 2008 Presidential race. He'll be most helpful in bleeding off the far left while the Democratic nominee builds a true american majority. And Obama was right about Reagan, too.

While I don't agree with a lot of his views, I have to hand it to Nader: he really lives what he preaches.

He's definitely the only Presidential candidate who's committed to living on $25,000/year. For all of John Edwards' class warfare rhetoric, he probably spends more than that on hair care.

I don't want to present myself as some sort of singular figure. I think part of what's different are the times. I do think that for example the 1980 was different. I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. I think they felt like with all the excesses of the 1960s and 1970s and government had grown and grown but there wasn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating. I think people, he just tapped into what people were already feeling, which was we want clarity we want optimism, we want a return to that sense of dynamism and entrepreneurship that had been missing.

mcck, if I'm pissing you off with my political commentary, and getting troll-rated at DKos for the same thing, then i must be doing something right.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
