As good as this seems, I can't help but think that the judge sorta-kinda-really-ought-to-have recused himself. I don't know that any other judge would have decided any differently, but part of the importance of having a government administer justice is that it appear to do so impartially. Having a former Marine judge this case looks to outsiders like home cooking.
[No, this is not comparable to having a woman judge a female defendant or a black man judge a black defendant.]
Also, I would like to thank M Simon, TallDave and their fellow bloggers for their continued interest in this technology. We appreciate that a great deal, but as you might imagine we have been a little too busy to communicate very much with the on-line people.
You got an atta boy from da man!! Way to go!!
BTW thanks for the link on the Semper Fi story!

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.
Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.

Dave did you see this?
It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This? Dr Nebel thanked you by name:
