I don't drink anymore, but, I'm not surprised this would work for the occasional drinker. Essentially, one of the causes of the hangover headache is that you get constricted blood vessels in your head. Anything that causes them to loosen up will alleviate that hangover headache. Pseudoephedrine works well for that, and I wouldn't be surprised if Claritin does too (although I'm not sure how it works).

Correction: there's no such thing as hanging around with Ron too long.

Well, unless he's on the clock, and you're the client...

Dean: there was something in the news lately about allergens and alcohol, tho I couldn't find it at "presstime."

Regarding Claritin, if you're talking about the 24-hour pills then here's a trick: take them just before you go to bed: they'll make you drowsy and help you sleep and then when you wake up you'll be good to go. I used to take it as soon as I woke up but I found that it made me worthless for the first hour or so at work.

As for hangovers...I don't drink all that much, but I've never had a hangover after having Claritin the previous day (I have had ones after two beers after taking Benadryl).

My hangover remedy:

I quit at two beers if I'm at home, one if I must drive to get home. Likewise with wine. Two glasses max if at home, one if away from home.

Never anything to drink whatsoever when its a shoot day at the gunrange, or handling guns and live ammunition at home.

Harder stuff? Rarely. Mostly a memory.

An alternative to Arnold's: Don't stop drinking.

Don't give the stuff a chance to metabolize out of your system, and hangovers (as with all else) will be a distant memory.

William,

Drink like that, and you as well as your hangovers will be both be distant memories.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
