Indoctrinate U And Evan Coyne Maloney On CNN Tonight

CNN Headline News (Glenn Beck Show) will be featuring Evan Coyne Maloney on the show tonight, at 7:30 EST.

Maloney directed the runaway underground smash hit documentary Indoctrinate U--a devastating expose of what is inadequately called "political correctness" on college campuses. (www.IndoctrinateU.com)

I saw the film some months ago, and thought it was brilliant, shocking, infuriating, and above all else, a stupendous piece of investigative reportage.

Full disclosure: I am the Program Director at Human Rights Foundation, whose founder, Thor Halvorssen, co-founded MPI (Moving Picture Institute) which put out Indoctrinate U.

However, I was on record as LOVING Indoctrinate U even before that was the case.

The film premieres in Washington DC on Friday.

To be honest the trailer didn't do it for me. I know it's just a trailer but it didn't really show any actual examples of classroom thought policing. Hopefully it will screen someplace nearby so I can check out the whole movie.

Seems like it would be a subject in which it would be _incredibly_ easy to mislead your audience, simply by reporting some events but not their context or other events which contradict the overall thesis. I expect the Ben Stein Intelligent Design movie Expelled to work the same way.

Not a fair criticism. It's easy to mislead your audience about any subject when you get to decide what to show and what to suppress. Everyone is responsible for their own critical reading of a source whose biases aren't known.

zach., I think the biases are pretty clear, just from the title. That doesn't make the film wrong, however, so critical reading is still key.

good point, we are all responsible for our own critical readings regardless of the stated or implicit biases of the informers.

Well, I haven't seen the film. My point is that this particular highly politicized subject matter is extremely easy to mislead.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
