It's too bad TmjUtah isn't commenting/blogging as often as he used to. His opinions were always informed and interesting.

I only spent a few days in Jordan, but the people I got a chance to talk to, mostly Bedouin who dealt with tourists all day, were friendly and curious about America. Our taxi driver, who was part of the peackeeping efforts in Somalia, asked us what the term "Roger that" meant in English. He'd heard it over and over, but couldn't make any sense of it.

Jordanians don't necessarily love Americans or anything, but they do love their King and their royals. They hang their pictures up everywhere, sort of like the Thais do, not because they have to but because they want to.

How can you not love a guy who has an all-day scuba/aviation channel on TV? If the King is on our side, the majority of Jordanians probably are too.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
