I was hoping they'd pull it out as soon as I saw that they'd made it to the semifinals. This was well-needed and well-deserved, and I look forward to cheering for them in the 2010 World Cup.

It seems that the social force most important to the victory of good over evil in Iraq is Iraqi nationalism.
To me, victory means a state in the heart of the middle east possessing the rule of law, freedom of thought and a free press.That would contribute handsomely to the evolution of ideas governing the passions and ideals of the people inhabiting the region.
And what if we got really good at this regime toppling, nation building stuff? Why, we could do it again....... (Only, partly tongue in cheek.)
Well, didn't Captain's Quarters topple the Canadian government a year or two ago? Not that we've really helped them rebuild, but still...

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.
Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
