So, would we be mistaken in calling the British constitution vaporware?

It's still better than the shareware they were using in the Soviet Union. Cuba and North Korea still can't get rid of it, it's apparently infected with a virus.

Come to think of it, why wasn't MacArthur ever arrested for copyright infringement in Japan? I've heard their copy was pirated.

The pact of the "Haudenosaunee" (possibly the worlds first democratic government) predates ours and the British Constitution by hundreds of years. While it has been out of beta for some time, the version and age is unknown because it was passed down on an oral network for hundreds of years.

What many if not most people don't know, is that the programmers of our Constitution, borrowed much of the code from the Iroquois Confederacy, or the League of Peace and Power. Even the concept of separate Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government comes from the Iroquois Confederacy. But one thing the they wouldn't emulate of the Iroquois culture was respect and equal rights for women.

Before the revolution our Indians were often referred to as "Noble Savage" which sounds like a contradiction in terms, but it's not. The "Noble" was for their honor and honesty, however the "savage" wasn't for their temperament, but for the way they lived. Because they lived crudely by English standards and ate with their fingers.

Actually, should the US Consitution be version 2.27? Our first was the Articles of Confederation.

LOL. Speaking for myself, you've humbled me Samuel. I never even thought of that, and I should have. You're right, of course.

Nah, the Articles were a ripoff of the shareware "OS for the 17-86" written by this guy in Seattle. I hear they paid him $50,000 for it.

Andrew: great observation! I have to wonder, though. Since the British Constitution is unwritten, doesn't that mean it's undocumented software?

The analogy underestimates the complex cultural forces that insure adherence to that piece of paper, and that brought that piece of paper into being in the first place. It's Important to remember, considering that many wish to legitimize failed cultures by according them by fiat statehood(may G-d protect us).

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
