Dean's World

Defending the liberal tradition in history, science, and philosophy.

Kowalski

Mmmm. The wife-unit brought home some hot Hunter's Sausage and Polish Mustard (hot mustard with horseradish) home this afternoon. My nose is running and I'm in Heaven.

Kowalski is a Detroit institution, and one they're rightly proud of.

Super K Dog!

"Kowality, Kowality, Kowality!"

And Koegel's are darn good to, as is Dearborn Sausage Company. (But not nearly as much fun for a little kid as seeing the 'big tire'.)

"Kowalski" was one of the first words I read on a billboard, much to the amazement of my parents when I was four or so. Good thing the company's name wasn't "Przynszczicki" or I'd still be illiterate!

Dearborn Sausage went downhill. They got taken over by Hungarians and cut down on the garlic. Ruined their stuff for us.

Sorry to hear that about Dearborn. Have to admit my memory of them is better than that.

I think I'm too much of a stargate nerd since the first thing I "thought" about (actually, heard in my head) was this guy:

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
