Have you guys heard about the Great Games Experiment? It's being billed as "myspace for gamers". Here's Me. How about you?

I'm not sure I follow. Doesn't myspace already satisfy the need for a "myspace for gamers"? This seems a little reminiscent of "headshot" energy bar.

Myspace is really a community for teenagers and teenaged fans of music. Seriously, the whole thing is set up to A) look ugly, and B) introduce me to music I've not heard. I'm hoping to be able to use the great games experiment to find new games...

Why not? They've got a section for "casual" gamers, and you might find games you like by joining...

You've got great taste, that's all I can say. FF7 is my absolute favorite RPG. And KOTOR is probably the best RPG to be released on PC...ever.

I haven't really done much Civ, but I do play a lot of RTS's: AoK, AoeIII, etc. So yea. We have similar tastes. Not a lot of games have come out recently that really impress me though so I don't know if that site will help me much. Although it is definitely interesting.

I'll back you up with the CIV series. From I to Warlords, I think it's one of Sid Meir's best efforts.

Also do a lot of World at War (Steel Panthers). As a freebie game (albeit a 450MB download), you can't beat the price.

If anyone is looking for a great CIV like game, Galactic Civilizations's II is awesome. I no longer have to pine over MoO II, or complain about MoO III, because GalCiv does everything I want it to do...

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
