Again, Dean, I'm in almost perfect agreement. The guys are really going to have to pull up their socks if they intend to have any chance. Jackson was right, I think, saying maybe four of the men had a chance after tonight.

I'm not sure I agree with you, though, on "You're Gonna Love Me". The Jennifer Holliday version is the definitive one, granted. But Lakeisha's version was equally strong, I thought, particularly considering that she wasn't doing it in character. I do think she was head and shoulders ahead of everyone else and the contest is hers to lose.

WOW!

No predictions from me at this point.

Just WOW!

Definitely made up for last night.

That Bonnie Raitt song was actually written by a football player.

A Penn State linebacker yet at that….

Ooops.

Penn State defensive lineman, not linebacker.

Not that that matters much, but I do like to be accurate.

It's Season 3 over again. Only there are more than just 3 divas. I counted 5. And all are amazing. My diva list, in no particular order:

Melinda
Stephanie
Sabrina
Jordin
Lakisha

MUCH better than the guys overall.

I like what Simon said last night, that he'd keep 8 of the girls and only 4 of the guys, if he could. So would I. I'm not sure I'd even be that fair.

Oops, it was Randy who said that. Imagine that. Clarity from Randy.

The only thing that annoys me about the girls is Antonella. Why did they keep her instead of Bailey? I wonder if in retrospect any of the judges ever regret their choices? Or do you think they probably don't even sweat it, because each year they make money, so who gives a crap who the choose, as long as they are good enough (or in A's case, hot enough) to get ratings?

Bah...

Really, there were only 3 or 4 girls who were good enough last night.

Remember, last year though, that Chris Daughtry had at least 3 or 4 shows where he was head an shoulders above everyone else, and he came in 4th...

Bailey got dumped because she couldn't remember the lyrics to her song at all. That was an unforgivable error at that stage of the contest. It wasn't a matter of fluffing a line or two; she absolutely froze up.

I hope she comes back when she's a little more mature, though, as I think she has potential.

The song is actually called "And I'm Telling You (I'm Not Going)", not "You're Gonna Love Me". While Jennifer Holliday's original Broadway version is the definitive version, that won't last very long. That's because Jennifer Hudson does an even better job with the song, which is being played all over black radio right now and has gotten standing ovations in movie theatres DURING the showing of "Dreamgirls" (as when I saw it the first time). Hence, which is why Holliday is so upset...er jealous...about Hudson cutting up her song so well.

I enjoyed it last night and will wait a bit to say anymore. As if that means anything ;-)

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
