"One colonel followed me out of the meeting with our military leaders in Ramadi and said with great emotion, "Sir, I regret that I did not have the chance to speak in the meeting, but I want you to know on behalf of the soldiers in my unit and myself that we believe in why we are fighting here and we want to finish this fight. We know we can win it."

Now that statement really got to me!

I know we must win this war and I am on board with it. I was wavering due to negative things being said. It's a cival war, and on and on. Inside I have tried to hang on. I hang on due to our troops. I personally must admit that I have read blogs and other things like listening to the radio talking about a cival war. Then I think about the troops and know I must support them.

I've always supported the troops. They deserve our full support and we must let them know.

Joe Liberman, I thank you. What a great article.

This sounds like more jingoistic propaganda to me. We should be speaking truth to power!

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
