Going To Be At Home Tonight?

The Esmay family will be around and hanging out at the house. Like last year we'll probably host an open thread here on DW and may also open up a chat room in Yahoo Messenger. Probably starting around 10pm Eastern or so...

Yes, I will be home so I will check you all out later tonight ;-)

Did you watch the Saddam hanging? I got a bit online from a CNN video and that is as far as I wanted to go anyway. I paused a few times because I didn't want to see it then let it run and CNN used good taste I think.

My family has a tradition where we watch movies most of the day, and then tune in about 5 minutes before midnight to watch the ball drop. Terribly non-party like, but that's us sticks in the mud for you. :p

I will be fighting crime and dishing out vigilante justice against those who would prey upon the weak.

Or just hangin' out at home. Not sure which.

I’ll be home. Don’t know if I’ll be on line though. Depends on whether the wife conks out early (she usually does).

We almost got up the gumption to go see the pickle drop, which is the local tradition. But I’m pooped from cooking all day, and she has a bunch of year end ebay business stuff to wrap up ASAP. Plus it looks like its going to rain. So we’re going to stay in, and pig out.

I’m pretty sure the last time I was out on New Years Eve was 1987. Talk about a stick in the mud….

I just got home, have been out visiting some friends this afternoon. Yeah, I'll be home this evening, though whether I'll be up till anything like midnight is an open question. As I get older I find that on New Year's Eve it's sometimes Yes, and sometimes ZZZZZZZZZ...

I'm always home. Stefi and I have the largest living quarters of anybody in our family that resides here in Dane County, Wisconsin. This this is party central. Besides, Stefi is a good and willing cook. And that also means I get stuck with the booze bill.

Now that my daughter is engaged to marry her architect boyfriend, and seeing as how their house is even larger than ours, and seeing as how she's a good cook just like her mom... well you guys can fill in the rest of the blanks.

Except that we all have to drive over to the west side of Milwaukee County to get there.

I'll be driving the wee wifey to work at 10 and then coming home to do nothing New Year specific.

Commenting on Dean's World is a privilege, not a right. Dean is your host, you are his guest, and you should behave in that fashion. Dean is not your babysitter, nor is he your punching bag. Please remember this. In general, you are free to disagree with anyone on any subject you wish, but abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

Of course we all lose our tempers now and then. Dean freely admits to being imperfect in this regard, which is why regulars to this establishment will generally be cut more slack than people who we don't know very well.

Still: behave like an adult, or go find somewhere else to play. Thanks.
