Dean, I don't think they have learned yet. That will happen when a reporter or editor is indicted, tried, convicted, and sentenced for espionage. Maybe not even then.
Mike's right. They will make a martyr of such a one and it will drive them only further to the anti-government opposition. That doesn't mean it shouldn't happen.
For many years, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on display a few miles from here, at a place called Gaslight Village, a tourist attraction in Lake George, NY. The owner, Charlie Wood, was a collector and opened a small museum on the property. It was pretty neat, and the car was just gorgeous.
Mr. Wood went on to affiliate with Paul Newman to open the Hole In The Woods camp locally. It's for children with devastating health issues.
I remember the car and it made me smile to see the photo of it here.
But seriously, calling the targets of an investigation, ANY investigation and not just terrorist ones, on the eve of a takedown, is just wrong.
The author of that article jumped to some rather lame conclusions (the FBI wasn't prevented from completing their operation for one thing), though.
