Yeah, I think "most unique" is a good bit of hyoerbole.
It might be a good story. I haven't read it. But the concept itself is pretty unoriginal. I don't mean that as an insult. Most story ideas are unoriginal, it's the execution that really matters.
I just finished reading it this weekend, and I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars. It far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend anyone who may be on the fence, to take the plunge and order a copy.
And as far as being “the single most unique story in print today”, well, I can buy into that from a certain perspective.
The theme or concept of the novel itself is a bit unusual, but it’s really nothing too far-out. So Jesse isn't off base much on that point.
But the history of the creation of the novel, i.e., how it evolved from a blog, most definitely makes the story unique.
Yeah, it's that whole "Self Published" thing that jacks the price up. It's just over 23.00 if you order from Lulu and ship by mail. If we had $10K we could have pre-;oaded a thousand or so and the price would be much more reasonable.
Anyone got ten grand burning a hole in their pocket?

But "most unique?" C'mon.

True. I'll giva ya that. :)

crickets
The idea of an immortal is not unique, but I don't believe anyone's written a story this way and from this kind of perspective.
Either way, good work Dean and John. You published a novel!
