Tigers Win, 3-0

And are now up on the series 3-0, ironically.

They've damn well earned that wildcard spot haven't they?

It's damn frustrating - yet another wasted October for us A's fans. The best news about the A's is they are getting ready to build a new ballpark in Fremont and will move out of Al Davis' monstrosity. Maybe with a non-crappy ballpark near their fanbase in the South Bay, they'll have the payroll to keep good players in their prime. (For various evil reasons having to do with MLB's "papal partitioning" of the Bay Area, they can't actually move to San Jose.)

That said, I'll probably be rooting for the Tigers in the Series if the A's don't pull off a miracle comeback...

For entirely selfish reasons, I'm hoping for a sweep: if they sweep, there will be no game Sunday; and so when I return to the Detroit area on Sunday, I won't have to fight the fans for room on the road and in the hotels!

Teams have come back from a 3 game hole to win, but it sure hasn't been common...

The idea of the Fremont Athletics strikes me as... odd. I guess as long as it's along a BART line, though, I won't complain too loudly...

The A's have been trying to get out of that awful stadium for many years, mostly to San Jose, but the Giants "own" Santa Clara County according to MLB rules and aren't interested in giving it up. Fremont makes a lot of sense in this regard - it's still in Alameda County but quite convenient for A's fans in the South Bay.

I'd imagine they'll still be the "Oakland" A's, just like the "LA" Angels and the "New York" Giants.
