Silent is exactly what the world would've been without Mr. Baen. He gave so many voices a chance to be heard.

He had arrangements in place such that Baen Books will continue. As to whether any more superstars will emerge from the slush pile will depend on those taking over the operation. Note that one of his major financial backers is himself an SF publisher.
