Muharib spill muslim blood in Baghdad masjid

If there be a genuine clash of civilizations in this world, then it rages only between the civilized folk of the world and the barbarians. Case in point:

A suicide bomber struck a Shiite mosque during Friday prayers in Baghdad, killing at least 10 people and wounding 20, police said, as violence persisted in the capital despite a massive security operation aimed at restoring order.

Police Lieutenant Thaer Mahmoud said the attacker blew himself up at the Buratha mosque in northern Baghdad.

Mahmoud said the bomber was wearing an explosive belt, but Jalal Eddin al-Sagheer, the preacher at the mosque and one of the country's leading politicians, however, said the explosives were inside a worshipper's shoes.

He said guards first arrested a suspected attacker after discovering explosives as they were searching shoes left outside the mosque. The bomber blew himself up when confronted by the guards as they began searching worshippers with shoes beside them inside the mosque, al-Sagheer said. [...] It was the second time the mosque has been hit in just over two months. The Buratha mosque also was attacked during Friday prayers on April 7, when four suicide bombers, including a woman, set off their explosives, killing at least 85 worshippers as they left the mosque after the main weekly religious service.

The U.S. military blamed that attack on Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Al Qaeda in Iraq leader who was killed last week in a U.S. airstrike. The terror group issued a statement Tuesday vowing to avenge Zarqawi's death and threatening horrific attacks "in the coming days."

It is as if they desire to "kill all of mankind" (5:32-33).

(masjid - or place of sajd/prostration - is the correct word for "mosque". Muharib - those who commit hirabah)

Shoe bombs. In a mosque. During worship services.

Despicable beyond words.

But also, in response, incredible courage: the imam of the mosque, al-Saghir, is a member of the Iraqi parliament. He survived the attack, and both renounced retaliatory violence and swore that these attacks would not stop democracy's progress. Austin Bay has more details.

I mean, seriously, if people aren't seeing the courage of everyday Iraqis, the stories we see everyday in the Iraqi blogosphere, at Centcom, in other Iraqi sources... my God.

Shiites are spreading corruption in the land. Therefore, thier hands and feet should be cut off, their bodies split in two, or they should be crucified and exiled. (5:32, 33)

J{D} - you arent reading the same qur'an I am, apparently. Maybe you've mistaken it for the Old Testament?

Well, maybe I'm reading the same Koran that the leadership of all 4 Sunni Madhabs read, or all of the Ayatollas, or hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide who disagree with you.

We had this conversation about the old testament at a post by Dean entilted "Bible Readings" and, if you read through this thread, it seems that Dean has already started his own Madhab, already with 7 eschatalogical tenets about Islam. Perhaps you should subscribe and become a scholar of the Al-Esmay Madhab.

All schools of Modern Jewish thought, Orthadox, Hassids, Haredis, Mashortis, Reformists ect...reject a fundamentalist interpretation of Jewish law, i.e. establishing the literal laws of Leviticus and Deuteronomy as civic mandates in the state of Israel or elsewhere.

It would be nice if all Muslim schools and ecumenical orginizations did the same regarding Koranic commandments, such as 9:5, 24:2, 5:38, 4:89, 4:34...ect. It would have an enormous impact on curbing terrorism world-wide. Perhaps the Al-Esmay Madhab could be the beginning!

Dean Esmay:
I didn't know you read Arabic, Jimmy. Or were such a scholar you were qualified to comment on what every school of Koranic interpretation holds to. I'm impressed!

Which madrasah did you study at? Al-Sbunsar is my guess. I hear they make a good living there.

So then you do admit that schools of Islamic thought, such as Madhabs, are important in defining Islam Dean?

You don't have to take it from me what those schools teach, you can get the information from the scholars and doctrines themselves.

I don't presume you are an Arabic Muslim scholar, so what methodology did you use to come to your conclusions of the definition of Islam, such as your 7 pillars?
6.16.2006 10:14pm
Dean Esmay:
My 7 pillars? What are those?

The only thing I'll "admit" about the schools of Islamic thought is that you have to ask a Muslim from that tradition what he thinks and believes.

Holy war is part of the tradition. Yes indeed it is. So is acceptance of violence in some circumstances. So?

You need to make a few Muslim friends, Jimmy, and to start realizing that Roobart makes his living selling his ideas to you. Because he does.

Here are 7 eschatalogical tenets that you posted throughout the "Bible Readings" thread and claimed that they are part of true Islam:

1)The Koran is the complete, perfect revelation of God.
2)The Koran is not to be taken literally
3)Mohammad was flawed, and Muslims are not to emulate him completely.
4)Islam recognises a separation of church and state.
5)Islam does not advocate deception (taqiyaa)in order to gain the acceptance of non-Muslims
6)Mohammad may have been justified (at least by 7th century standards) in the massacre of Quraiza men as well as the enslavement of their women and children, because those Jews kept attacking him.

From the Risala Al-Maliki 37.19:
The apostate is killed unless he repents. He is allowed three days grace; if he fails to utilise the chance to repent, the execution takes place. This same also applies to women apostates.

Maybe we should ask Sheikh Sharif Ahmed, the leader of the Islamic Courts Union in Somalia and maliki jurist, what he thinks and believes about that.

You said:
Holy war is part of the tradition. Yes indeed it is. So is acceptance of violence in some circumstances. So?
What do you mean, So?!! So millions of devout muslims who seek guidence from clerics and scholars are taught to fight the infidel in the name of Allah, and practice archaine, 7th century civic rules.

How can you write this off? Don't you think a lay catholic might consider what the clergy and cannon teach about abortion, contraception, homosexuality, ect...in order to guide their decisions? Only now its about killing people!

How do you know how many muslim freinds I have? Maybe you shouldn't come down to harshly on affirmative action or political correctness...we should probably count how many black friends you have to determine if your opinions on those subjects are legitamate.
