I've always been intrigued by the research into "learning by doing" robotics. Once the skills are mastered by the design model, they can be copied to duplicates.

Which is why, of course, the Terminators take over the world. (HAH!)

Baby-bot is about teaching robots how to interact with the world. Eve-R is about making them look human.

I don't think one is inherently better than the other.

The one is more innovative than the other. We've had 'bots that pretend to be human--badly--for some time. The real key to the magic is to develop 'bots that are self-aware and act spontaneously.
